I spent several days this past week working on my entry for Tokyo Pop's Sealand Appreciation Contest. Sealand, for anyone who may stumble upon this, is a Micronation that was formerly a British Naval Fort. It isn't really recognized, except on two accounts, but it was "founded" by a guy who was running a pirate radio station. That sold me.
So I set out on the task of showing my appreciation of the micronation itself and Hetalia's(an anime that personifies countries, shenanigans ensue) portrayal of it. This was the result:
His name is Peter Kirkland and he is delightfully squishy, complete with jointed arms.
Working on this piece taught me a lot about making humanoid plush and I am anxious to make more. Holiday gifts, STAT!
On a foodie front, tonight, since we embarked on an epic quest(and by epic quest, I mean restocking our pantries) I decided to make bruschetta. I had never made it before, so I just winged it.
The only downside of it was:
1: I had never used the broiler in this oven before, so it scorched the edges of the bread. The plush, it wasn't really noticeable, except for visually.
2: Not enough! I could have eaten a pound of it on my own.
A spiraling tower of Ciabatta, raising toward the heavens!
Shrimp, Tomato and Red Onions, coated in a light, homemade dressing. Absolutely, fabulous. I need to write down what I did, because I want to eat this every day now.
And that is all from me. Orders to manage and Ouran High School to finish watching.
